After previously mounting a run of shows at Park MGM back in 2019, Janet Jackson reportedly putting the finishing touches on a new deal with Resorts World. According to TMZ, the pop icon is close to inking a contract for a new Vegas residency slated to start in December. According to a source, it will be a short run than her last one back in 2019. Apparently, Jackson turned down another residency offer in London because the Resorts World offered a more lucrative contract, according to the source.
Janet Jackson's 2019 Metamorphosis residency took place at the Park Theater in the Park MGM hotel and casino. The residency ran from May 17, 2019, to August 17, 2019, and included a total of 18 shows. The residency was notable for celebrating the 30th anniversary of her landmark album, Rhythm Nation 1814.
The residency was highly successful, both in terms of ticket sales and revenue. Over the course of the 18 shows, Jackson sold 76,813 tickets and grossed nearly $13 million. Each show averaged around 4,000 tickets sold, bringing in approximately $722,000 per night. This impressive performance placed her ahead of other notable Vegas acts, such as Celine Dion and Britney Spears, in terms of average nightly revenue.
The Metamorphosis residency was produced by Live Nation Entertainment and showcased a mix of Jackson's classic hits and fan favorites, highlighting her extensive music catalog and remarkable stage presence.
