Over the weekend, country music icon George Strait set a new attendance record for the largest single-ticketed concert in U.S. history. On Saturday, June 15, at Texas A&M University's Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, Strait performed in front of a crowd of 110,905 fans. The previous record had been held for more than four decades by The Grateful Dead, who drew 107,019 Deadheads to their show at Raceway Park in New Jersey back in 1977.

In front of the biggest capacity crowd America has ever seen, Strait, 72, played a massive 31-song set that included hits like "Here for a Good Time," "Check Yes or No," "I Can Still Make Cheyenne," "Ocean Front Property," "All My Ex's Live in Texas," and many more. The country legend also debuted three new tracks from his forthcoming album, Cowboys and Dreamers, which is slated for release on September 6.

He wrapped things up most poignantly with "Take Me to Texas" and "The Cowboy Rides Away."

This concert attendance record is the only one on Strait's resume. A pillar of music history, he has the most No. 1 singles of any artist in any genre, he'sthe only artist to have a Top 10 hit every year for the last 30 years, and he has the most No. 1 albums, gold albums, and platinum albums of any country music artist in history. Combining albums and songs, George Strait has an astounding 60 No. 1 hits across his entire catalog.

George Strait released his last album Honkey Tonk Time Machine back in 2019. Anchored by the hit single "Every Little Honkey Tonk Bar," the album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. The record also contains the song "Sing One with Willie" which features a very special guest appearance by fellow country icon Willie Nelson.
